Cinc Sentits Restaurant Review

: With meticulous attention to detail, this sumptuous space of coffee-cream walls, shimmering bronze features and deep earthy textures is a haven of peace and culinary creativity. Jordi Artal’s inspired dishes capitalize on Catalonia’s freshest and highest quality ingredients with tasting menus --- Gastronòmic, Sentits, Formula --- that evolve with the seasons to ensure the pinnacle of flavor. Start with caviar served on a bed of fresh-whipped sturgeon foam before moving on to caramelized foie gras with chives and leeks; white asparagus with almond, apple and powdered honey; and locally caught Mediterranean skate complemented by spring peas and a mussel. We also like Artal's surf ‘n’ turf of Iberian suckling pork cheeks with saffron allioli and grilled calamari, which has become one of his signatures. A considered selection from among some 250 Catalan and Spanish wines is paired with each course of the tasting menus, offering some of the finest vintages from limited production bodegas. But it’s the restaurant’s wine knowledge and personal relationship with the wine producers that really elevate the experience. To finish, explore the sharp fruitiness of the raspberry sorbet and pistachio sponge cake, or try the smooth tones of macadamia nut and olive oil ice cream.
