THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Cirxa Restaurant Review:
Located on a suddenly-trendy stretch of Sunset, this slightly funky venue is filled with red leatherette booths and tables topped with butcher paper over burgundy tablecloths (crayons are on every table, and some impressive customer-generated artwork is mounted on the brick walls, along with some professional pieces). The gumbo is bland but the blackened snapper, Cajun meatloaf, deep-fried catfish and shrimp in a hot-and-sweet mahogany barbecue sauce leave good impressions. For breakfast, you'll find fried chicken 'n' waffles and biscuits in gravy; and for lunch, New Orleans-style po'boys or vegetarian etouffée.
