Enjoy hearty classic fare at this grand Art-Deco French American steakhouse. Executive chef David Amorelli's menu features a three-course prix-fixe dinner served with unlimited tastes of four different wines from an extensive list, usually a Champagne, two reds and a white. Begin with Amorelli's signature appetizers: a bowl of sweet corn and leek chowder with smoked bacon, the pan-seared crab cakes with a spicy mayonnaise or the Atlantic salmon gravlax served with potato salad and sweet mustard sauce. For an entrée, try the grilled swordfish steak with brown butter and capers, the Creole spit-roasted chicken over potato purée, filet au poivre or a veal chop. If your meal doesn't come with Cité's justly famous french fries or creamed spinach, you better special order them. If you still have room, don't miss pastry chef Suzanne Tobias' warm apple crumble with Tahitian vanilla ice cream. For a less expensive and more casual meal, try the adjacent Cité Grill.
