Claim Jumper Restaurant Review: Walking into a Claim Jumper is like walking into a hunting lodge: you're surrounded by huge hearths while moose antler chandeliers hang from the ceiling. Not only is the dining room huge, but the portions are notoriously generous as well. The vast, mostly contemporary American menu runs the gamut from egg rolls to rotisserie chicken and black beans, and that’s just the appetizers. The morbidly-named Widow Maker burger is a monstrosity containing a half-pound burger, cheddar, avocado, bacon and onion rings between the bun. But just because the food is big doesn’t mean it’s bad. The barbecue specialties are noteworthy, and the baby-back rib and rotisserie barbecued half chicken combo is the best of both worlds. Desserts are just as excessive, especially the Chocolate Motherlode cake, which is a mind-boggling six full layers tall. Families are comfortable here, as there is something for everyone.
