Clam Box of Ipswich Restaurant Review: This iconic spot, with its distinctive shape of an open take-out container for fried clams, has been serving fried seafood to the masses for decades. The key is simplicity: it has chosen one thing here and does it better than almost anyone else, namely whole-bellied clams. Of course, they come with all the fixings: fries, onion rings, slaw---all prepared just so and presented without pretense. Portions are intimidating, and regulars know that a mini-meal, served with a choice of a side, is more than enough fried goodness. An added surprise: the burgers are good, too. |
