Clawson Steak House Restaurant Review:

Family owned for 50 years, this approachable, affordable steakhouse’s hallmark is hand-cut meat and fresh fish delivered daily, with dinner trimmings included in the price of entrées. Chef specials change daily. Recommended menu items include prime rib, lamb chops, baby-back ribs, a selection of veal including the Veal Oscar (tender sautéed milk-fed veal topped with asparagus, crab meat and béarnaise sauce), pasta and chicken dishes. Consider classics such as surf ‘n’ turf, pan-fried lake perch and frogs’ legs, too. We like the house-made bread and salad dressings as well as the hot caramel brownie. Service is as friendly and unassuming as the aura of the rooms. There's a full bar and an extensive wine list that includes a notable by-the-glass selection. An important element is the dance floor: a live combo plays standards Wednesday through Saturday, a major draw in an era when a supper club vibe is rare. Dining and dancing may have gone out of style at some places, but not here.
