For years, LA diners earmarked this café for terrific tandoori dishes and authentic biryani (lamb curry with rice, fried onions and tomatoes.) Today, the only thing that has changed is the address. The owners closed both downtown locations and took their recipes, their reputation---and an extensive following---to Brentwood. It's here you'll find the traditional paneer bhajia, grated Indian cheese sautéed with onions and green peas; dal makhani, creamy Indian lentils; and bhindi, fried then mixed with onions and finely seasoned; as well as new entrées with eastern seasonings.
