Cleonice Mediterranean Bistro Restaurant Review: A seat at the 32-foot bar is highly coveted in this loud and lively spot where tapas, American-style, still retain some Spanish spark. Try the Cephalopod sampler with sepia con sepia --- a cuttlefish in its own ink --- grilled baby octopus and a chilled calamari salad, or the boquerones, marinated white anchovies, for a touch of Spain. With so many small plates and tapas, you might want to add on some selections from the raw bar and make a full meal. Sandwiches include a grilled Middle Eastern-spiced Maine-raised lamb “burger” on pita bread with feta and tzatziki. Entrées hailing from local waters include a roasted cold-water bluefish filet with a sun-dried tomato and focaccia crust. For dessert, hope that the raspberry pie is on the menu. The wine list has some notable Spanish bottles as well as domestics and plenty of sparkling choices. |
