| Coastal Kitchen attracts an eclectic Capitol Hill crowd looking for good food in a casual setting. The funky split-level storefront features ceramic tile floors and painted wood wainscoting, identifying its 1920s origins. Although the dinnertime focus here is fish---no farmed fin fish are allowed to swim on the menu---the comfort food fare also includes oven-roasted chicken with mashed potatoes, pasta dishes, and spicy center-cut pork chops. Breakfast is available all day. Quarterly theme menus focus on coastal regions around the world such as Tunisia, Jamaica, Peru and Rome. Big, homey desserts are a satisfying splurge at meal's end. |
