Cody's Bar & Grill Restaurant Review: This under-the-radar eatery in the stark section of southwestern SoHo really is the place where everyone knows your name. (Well, if you’ve been here enough.) The friendly Irish owner works the room, which is made up of a long bar and a handful of tables. The affordable menu emphasizes Italian and American comfort food: nachos piled high with meat and cheese, a decent plus-size burger, beer-battered fish ‘n’ chips, and even an onion-topped New York sirloin. The pasta dishes, however, are standouts: goat cheese ravioli, roasted shallot cream and salmon mixed with angel hair pasta, grilled chicken and pesto with penne. You won’t be dazzled by technique or creativity, but the food and the friendly conversation are enough to satiate.
