Colori Kitchen Restaurant Review

: Colori Kitchen is one of downtown L.A.’s best-kept secrets and many Angelenos---particularly the loft dwellers that sustain it and other restaurants---have taken to this unpretentious family-operated spot. The dining room is a simple space with worn brick walls, exposed ducts and black-and-white photography, and the menu is equally unassuming. Start with a simply dressed arugula salad topped with shaved Parmigiano before moving on to pumpkin ravioli in a silky walnut sauce or a wild mushroom risotto. Cioppino is very popular here, but we also admire the rich, hearty spaghetti carbonara. Truffle-scented rack of lamb in mustard sauce will set you back little more than the pasta dishes at some of downtown’s pricier Italians, and the tiramisu and chocolate tart are fine finishes. There's no liquor license here, but you’re welcome to bring your own bottle with no corkage fee, and the service is warm and welcoming.
