If you are visiting the United Nations and need a place for a break, this bakery with French-style tables and chairs is a peaceful oasis and a great drop-in spot for a huge cup of organic coffee and a chocolate brioche. Locals pick up their daily quota of fresh-baked organic breads. The casual lunches and dinners feature fire-baked pizzas (we prefer the portobello and goat cheese) and unusual gourmet salads. For heavier fare, we like the hearty pasta cakes---layered baked pastas, such as angel hair with spinach and ricotta filling---served with a light mesclun salad. Finish off your visit with a beautifully presented mini pear frangipane tart.
