: With experience on the Strip as owner-operator-chef of the late-great Josef’s Brasserie, Joseph Keller, who co-founded Napa Valley’s Bouchon with his brother Thomas, moved to Lake Las Vegas to preside over his sophisticated yet casual Como’s. In MonteLago Village adjacent to The Ritz-Carlton, the light, airy restaurant features a mammoth bar with TVs and colorful bottles; the walls are adorned with wine-oriented artwork imported from Napa Valley. With menu changes dependent upon seasonal availability, Keller’s imagination inspires creative specialties. Crab meat is flown in from Maryland, Dungeness from San Francisco, mussels from Prince Edward Island, mushrooms from Napa and micro greens from Pahrump. Maine lobster bisque is offered for lunch and (with brandy cream) dinner. For lunch, we also like the grilled prime rib salad with romaine, blue cheese and fried onions; and the char-grilled ahi sandwich with romaine and black olive tapenade. A beef rib-eye medallion is accompanied by the signature shoestring fries for lunch; a 16-ounce bourbon-marinated Nebraska rib-eye is served with sautéed fingerling potatoes and spinach for dinner. Chilean sea bass is complemented by mascarpone orzo and lobster Cognac sauce; butter-grilled lobster comes with lobster emulsion and spaghetti squash. Among irresistible desserts are chocolate molten cake with espresso gelato and a blackberry-nectarine cobbler with vanilla ice cream, complemented by a versatile after-dinner drinks menu. A jazz band entertains on weekend evenings. Como’s spacious second floor is designed for private parties indoors and on its outdoor patios.
