Conch Republic Seafood Company Restaurant Review:

Conch Republic is an open-air citadel of seafood and a tourist destination for a historical reminder of the fishing industry once centered on the Key West bight. It’s a slightly campy but enjoyable experience to listen to live reggae music while feasting on smoked fish dip with crackers, coconut shrimp and blackened fish. Though a protected species and not fished locally, conch is still very much a regional dish, available as chowder, fritters, and Bahamian “cracked” style (battered and deep-fried) with Key lime mustard. There’s also Caribbean-inspired items like crab-stuffed St. Kitts ravioli and baked oysters callaloo. Pair any item with a cocktail made with one of the restaurant’s 80 brands of rum and you’ve got your postcard-worthy moment in Key West’s most scenic part of town.
