Consiglio's Restaurant Review: With its soothing décor of earth tones and mauves, pleasant landscape paintings and traditional Italian fare, Consiglio's has been a neighborhood fixture since the 1930s. Al fresco dining on the patio, cooking classes and dinner show events are pluses. Among classic starters, try the mushrooms stuffed with sausage, roasted red peppers, spinach and mozzarella, drizzled with a delicate garlic lemon butter sauce, and a crispy-thin margherita pizzette. Entrées include the “cavatelli and braciole,” pasta and thinly sliced beef, rolled with Parmesan, garlic and basil and baked in a homemade meat sauce; and zuppi di pesce simmered in a spicy fra diavolo sauce and served over linguine. The Godiva tiramisu and the chocolate mousse cake are fine finishes to a hearty meal. The wine list’s Italian regional varietals complement the menu.
