Cookhouse Café offers delicious down-home cooking. Some of the best barbecue in the state can be found here, with the ribs, the pulled pork, and the smoked brisket being standouts. The East Hartford branch is situated directly across from a Harley-Davidson dealership, which pretty much sets the tone right there: fine dining this is not. But the pace is easy-going, and the portions are large and affordable.
