Coral Room Restaurant Review: This small neighborhood restaurant is packed with 14 tables set with linens and mid-century modern dishes. A gauzy curtain divides the dining room from the noisy, always-crowded bar. Outside, four tables overlook a busy parking lot---but that only seems to add to the restaurant's urban charm. Start with an order of grilled coconut tempura tiger prawns (a generous five per skewer) with a spicy peanut sauce or the blue crab-banana egg rolls with a sweet-and-sour papaya sauce. We also suggest the signature carrot-ginger soup. Enjoy a Thai barbecued half-chicken that comes with corn on the cob brushed with chile butter, or the coconut-laced Thai curry served over sweet jasmine rice. Leave room for homemade mango sorbet and a cup of sweet Thai coffee---hot or iced. |
