The Corner Bar Restaurant Review

: At this well-known establishment, everyone knows your name and number---including hot dog-eating champions on its Hot Dog Hall of Fame. The record? A whopping 43 1/2 in four hours' time. Needless to say you need not pig out to partake. Fans of fried foods come instead to chow down on baskets of breaded dill pickles, fried mushrooms with homemade ranch dressing and onion rings---not to mention lightly battered, spicy-hot pepperjack cheese cubes. There's even a non-hot dog fashioned from soy and egg whites on offer. Choose from a wide assortment of specialty sandwiches, burgers, perch, chicken and tacos, too, or score the lighter Traverse City chicken salad with dried Michigan cherries, roasted walnuts, Mandarin oranges and blue cheese crumbles. Service can be spotty, depending on how packed the place is. Another downside is tables and booths are close, so quiet time should never be on the mind. There is also a take-out window, allowing diners to enjoy grub by the scenic Rockford Dam.
