THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Coup Restaurant Review:

With no sign out front and a blank wall for a storefront, Coup could be taking a stab at cool anonymity, but after tasting the unexciting food, we think the staff may be hiding. Sleek and modern, this newcomer stands apart from the usual East Village lair, though, and its minimalist design borders on sterile. Chef Kevin Roth has steered the menu away from its original Mexican/French incarnation and replaced it with contemporary American dishes. There’s potential here, however, evidenced in a few winners like the fragrant and puffy apple-potato blini and the crisp-skinned roasted hen with dried cranberries.
