The Cowfish Sushi Burger Bar Restaurant Review: The Cowfish takes its unique environment cues from the live cowfish that paddle about in a centerpiece 600-gallon aquarium as well as from its custom artwork. Popular for post-mall dining, family nights, and with the young professional crowd, Cowfish offers as appetizers such Asian standards as crab Rangoon and moo shu lettuce wraps with chicken or tofu in portions made for sharing. Better to go for the blackened ahi nachos for starters. A sushi bar with computer monitors encourages guests to build their own sushi rolls. The menu’s signature is the burger-sushi fusion section, with “burgushi” options that marry typical burger components with non-traditional ingredients served sushi style. Can’t decide? Try a bento box featuring both a mini-burger, sushi and cucumber salad. For dessert, go for the apple pie wontons, flash fried and complemented by sweet caramel dipping sauce. An array of craft beers, wines by the glass and interesting signature cocktails provide plenty of quaffing interest. Even the restrooms keep in theme, projecting sayings recited in both a Southern drawl and Japanese. Need a lift at evening's end? Call for the Cowfish bus at no charge; just tip the driver.
