| This sibling to Craft restaurants in New York, Dallas and Los Angeles is housed in a freestanding building fronting Peachtree Road; its entrance, however, is on the courtyard that it shares with The Mansion on Peachtree. Chef de cuisine Kevin Maxey is responsible for the menu featuring such morsels as velvety-textured sweetbreads and lovely cold-water oysters among the opening gambits. Dishes are served family-style, so the tender, sweet duck, skirt steak and pork loin with pork belly sausage and caramelized shallots are intended for sharing. Among sides, we recommend the grits, sweet potatoes and assorted mushrooms. For dessert, target the very dark chocolate cake. The wine list is a study in depth and breadth: the depth in Champagne and sparkling wine is first-rate, and there's even an entire (if short) section devoted to Chenin Blanc, another to Riesling and still another to GrĂ¼ner Veltliner. Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are listed separating Burgundy from other expressions of these grapes. By-the-glass choices also offer taste sizes. |
