Craftbar Restaurant Review: The sibling restaurant to Craft is a more pleasant and less-maddening experience for diners looking for an informal meal. Featuring a seasonal menu, many of the same ingredients and concepts from Craft are available at Craftbar, just without the pomp and circumstance. From snacks like chickpea fries with black olive aïoli to appetizers such as warm pecorino fondue with acacia honey, hazelnuts and pepperoncini, the menu is whimsical and appealing. Instead of creating a meal à la carte like diners do at Craft, Craftbar offers a greatest hits list of pre-selected items: Daurade royale comes paired with English pea agnolotti, chanterelles and pork speck. True, with a bigger interior and more of a central location, Craftbar feels like another notch in Tom Colicchio’s belt and less of an experimental zone, but that doesn’t prevent it from creating a wholly enjoyable dining experience.
