Crazy is a stretch, but the toppings on these generally solid pies are relatively inventive.

This cutesy pizza parlor is crouched on a gnarled stretch of Boylston Street just two blocks from the heart of the Back Bay. The décor is early 1980s roller rink, the pizza quasi-gourmet circa 1995. The crust is doughy and vaguely sweet; toppings range from ground beef, cheddar and bacon to potato and pesto. We're duly impressed by the overall greaselessness. Still, stick with the vegetarian options if you're looking for quality---the Nutty Tuscan, with roast tomatoes and garlic, caramelized onions, pine nuts, Gorgonzola and pesto---and go for the meat toppings if you want quantity.
