Croissant d'Or Restaurant Review: If franchise coffeehouses and overly busy fast food spots are not your idea of leisurely breakfast settings, Croissant d’Or may be a welcome alternative. Oversize windows, vintage tile floors and a charming courtyard add to the appeal of this coffee café. Croissant d’Or feels like the town square of the French Quarter, albeit a quiet section, ideal for savoring an eye-opening morning cup of cappuccino or café au lait with a croissant and brioche. There may be a short wait in line at breakfast, however. Return at lunch for a hearty lentil and red bean soup or a light, freshly composed salad. Spotless pastry cases display the pastry staff's artistry.
