| Every spirited downtown hotel needs a happening bar and restaurant to match, and the Crosby Street Hotel's Crosby Bar is just that. The space is beautifully designed with hanging lamps and bright reds and yellows, giving the room a London-by-way-of-Marrakech feel. In addition to a de rigueur cocktail program with cheeky tipples like an Indo-Cynar Sour and a Madagascar Fizz, The Crosby Bar also serves a globe-spanning selection of eats. Sliders represent the U.S., crab Rangoons are from Asia, flatbread and hummus from the Middle East and there are even pizzas from the continent. It all makes for a rather pricey, if not especially brave, selection of bar snacks and entrées. There are a few standouts, however, including a well-seasoned Crosby Burger and, as one would hope from a hotel restaurant, a topnotch club sandwich and Caesar salad. Still, it's more about the scene than the food here, especially with SoHo at your doorstep. |
