THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Crush Restaurant Review: When chef Daniel Chaustit took over the space formerly occupied by Taste --- which Baltimore long-timers remember as a popular shoe store --- he jettisoned his predecessor’s special-occasion vibe and replaced it with a versatile high-low menu. Fat burgers and classed-up BLTs are available, but so is such tempting dressier fare as jumbo lump crab cakes and tenderloin with truffled fingerling potato salad. The cooking doesn’t dazzle with its creativity, but impresses with its classic simplicity. Demi, a sister restaurant on Crush’s lower level, specializes in international small plates.
