| Here's another reason to make the trip to South Philly: Italian-born Maria Forte is in the kitchen at this Italian gem, and she means serious business. Forte brings authenticity and creativity to every plate. We recommend her weightless gnocchi, either spinach or ricotta, with a Gorgonzola or marinara sauce. This is a family operation and it shows in the attentive service and the home-baked bread and pastas. Bring a good bottle of Italian wine and sample veal rolled with prosciutto and provolone or the grilled bronzino. Can't choose? Keep in mind that the pastas are available in half portions. The ricotta cheesecake is a must for dessert. |
