Cumin Restaurant Review

: Cumin has moved away from its Indian roots and is more of a modern restaurant offering eclectic dishes, such as five tastes of savory custards for an appetizer or an oyster leaf salad with bacon, buttermilk and fried shallots. For a main course, try the lamb rack, served with a shallot purée and petite lettuce, or the dry-aged rib-eye with egg yolk mushroom dressing. Even a burger gets fancied up with fig preserves. For dessert, we recommend the brown butter carrot cake served with cream cheese gelato or the grapefruit shortcake with strawberry purée and caramel whipped cream. Sunday brunch items follow the theme. Take the "funnaffle," a fried waffle with triple cream Brie, ham, green apple, egg, maple syrup and brown butter balsamic. Cumin is best known for its cozy Buddha lounge, which serves cocktails like the “Bollywood” --- Champagne and ginger-infused pomegranate juice --- and the coconut mojito. There's outdoor, bar and table seating, and the wine list has more than 100 choices.
