 The nation’s cupcake craze takes to the streets with this movable cupcake emporium. Had Carrie Bradshaw known about this, she would never have stopped at Magnolia Bakery. There's an ever-changing menu of flavors which includes the likes of Lemon Lemon, Elvis, Red Velvet (the hands-down favorite) and Funfetti (an all-butter cream version with rainbow sprinkles, a kids’ fave). An added bonus are the diet-conscious sizes, ranging from minis for when you’re feeling guilty to traditional for the complete dessert experience. We thank Lev Ekster for deferring his career as a lawyer to open these two heavenly trucks (one roaming and one stationary at South Street Seaport) and for hiring impressive bakers. Gluten-free cupcakes are available on Tuesdays, and any leftover cupcakes are donated each day to City Harvest, New York’s food assistance program. To wash the treats down there’s gourmet coffee, of course. Note: For the Cupcake Stop trucks, credit cards are accepted for phone-ahead orders only.
