| If you don't mind eating cattle-car style with a few hundred other diners, you can share in a bargain-basement deal. The early-bird special makes up for shortcomings in atmosphere and graciousness: before 6 p.m. Monday through Friday, or before 5 p.m. on Saturday, two can feast on chicken soup, half a barbecued chicken, cornbread and potatoes for $9.99. The regular menu also offers baby-back ribs, beef ribs, a loaf of deep-fried onions and hefty half-pound burgers. Don't expect down-home authenticity here, but the portions are generous and kids are welcome. |
