THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED The Damen Restaurant Review:

Don’t let the tacky bar in front put you off. Walk on through to the dining room in the back, which is an oasis of casual splendor. The altar of pizza on the back wall hosts one of the few wood-burning-oven pizza places in Chicago (incredible). This is excellent pizza, and the range is mighty tasty---from a classic margherita (albeit made with slices of fresh tomato) to a scintillating spinach and provolone to a dynamite roasted veggie. Sandwiches and several entrées complete the basic menu. Prices are rock-bottom. A wine list that is way too wonderful for such a funky place.
