Dan Maxwell’s Steakhouse has a certain fey charm. It’s a family place with Mr. Maxwell, his parents and siblings all pitching in to make a first-timer feel right at home. It is the Maxwell clans’ idea of how a New York steakhouse should be run, especially when it comes to prices. They include a potato choice and a salad with entrees, have generous portions and an onion burst, if you like, which is a large onion whose top is pre-cut to flower when fried.
