THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dandelion Restaurant Review:

American bistro fare and a short but first-rate list of cheeses, wines and beers can be found at this restaurant set on a side street in Ballard. We like to dine at a row of banquettes as much as we enjoy perching at the counter, where we can watch the chef simmering the evening’s delights. Creamy celeriac soup gets our palates revved up for more savory treats to come. Basics, like a roasted chicken, are outstanding, but we know to go for the inventive specials. Try prawns served in brown barbecue-style gravy atop a sturdy pillow of thick-cut grits. Beef bourguignon includes tender chunks of meat, earthy mushrooms and a savory gravy, but comes atop a rather ordinary heap of noodles. A warm chocolate cake is worth the wait, and a perfect size for sharing: melty in the middle, and topped with a scoop of ice cream, we’re enchanted.
