THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Dani Restaurant Review:
Former Tribeca Grill chef, Don Pintabona, is at the helm at this industrial Hudson Street eatery set in an airy 100-year-old warehouse. The menu sails around the Mediterranean---from Turkey to Spain to North Africa---but is heavily anchored in Sicily. The results are some unique and ambitious offerings: a hearty grilled octopus with parsley potatoes, or Prosecco mussels with orange and saffron. The linguine with manila clams and pancetta is a light update on a classic Italian favorite, while the popping flavors of cherry tomatoes and baby octopus nicely meld with the bucatini. The three-course lunch prix-fixe is one of the best bargains this side of Houston Street.
