DAS BBQ Restaurant Review:

Stephen Franklin, one of the owners, also oversees the pit operation at this Texas-inspired 'cue joint. Simple décor relies on the smoker, visible to the left as you enter the establishment. Brisket is the mainstay although we wish it were offered with the fat cap for more flavor. There are ribs, too, St. Louis cut, pulled pork, turkey and chicken, including wings, and if you order a "Pancho + Lefty," you can get two meats (perhaps brisket and sausage). For companions, we suggest the very good and not-too-sweet coleslaw and the slightly peppery elote (corn). The Brunswick stew is classic and quite tasty, chunky with meat and tomatoes. Three desserts are offered, including a white chocolate banana pudding. Local craft brews and a few decent wines (but they could be better) are the quaffs to target. A kids’ menu and veggie plate make the place welcoming for all. Not infrequently, the place sells out of all meats, and when that happens it closes, so we suggest early dining so you don't miss out.
