da'Tommaso Restaurant Review: This is the place for robust Italian fare like lasagna Napolitana and pasta Piedmontese. Antipasti is stellar: creamy mozzarella and roasted peppers with olive oil and garlic, mozzarella in carrozza, pasta with red clam sauce, sausages and broccoli rabe. During truffle season, da'Tommaso brandishes the truffle shaver over delicate pasta and risotti. Thursday through Sunday, there's live music---owner Thomas Verdillo is a gracious host and an able singer. The Neapolitan Christmas Eve dinner is an annual standout. The wine list includes some intriguing choices that are reasonably priced. |
