 Mount Adams, a hilltop neighborhood overlooking Cincinnati, is home to many good pubs and cafés, including Daveed's at 934. Chef-owner David Cook left a job with the city's premier restaurant family to open this spot, and it's obvious that he and his wife, Liz---who keeps a convivial vibe alive at the front of the house---have thought long and hard about how to run this eatery. To celebrate its tenth anniversary, Daveed's lowered its prices and updated its menu (as in a three-course dinner for $35, or $45 with wine). You can begin with a cheese selection or try veal sweetbreads with herb gnocchi, carrot and brown butter. Or hold out for the hanger steak prepared with fig glaze, root vegetable hash and onion confit with asparagus. Added perks include catering, cooking classes, wine dinners and an adventurous blind tasting menu, with anywhere from three courses to 12 courses and vino to match.
