Davio's Restaurant Review: This regional Italian steakhouse, located in the former Paine Furniture Building in Park Square, offers Italian cuisine “with a focus on the grill.” You’ll find staples like the Bolognese made with braised beef, veal and pork, and chophouse selections such as a 12-ounce Kobe sirloin. Specialty items include untraditional dishes like the broiled oysters stuffed with garlic and mushrooms. Crispy Philly cheese spring rolls are a must on the starter list, served with a side of homemade spicy ketchup and mayo. If you are sharing, order a sampler of spring rolls, including chicken Parm, Buffalo chicken, Reuben and shrimp cotija. The grilled center-cut veal chop is one of the specialties and goes best with a bold glass of Cabernet; it’s paired with creamy potatoes and asparagus. The best part of the dinner experience might be the desserts, which are prominently displayed on a wheeled cart. Choose from panna cotta, banana bread pudding, molten chocolate cake and lemon cake. Sunday brunch has oven-baked Jonah crab cakes, Belgian waffles, beef tenderloin with poached eggs and seared Atlantic salmon. The restaurant houses its own bakery and pizza bar, an enormous area that’s always overflowing with an after-work crowd, and a large, ornate dining room complete with sky-high ceilings, columns and hardwood floors.
