| While Little Dom’s has become a casually hip Los Feliz fixture for classic New York-style Italian dining, there’s always a niche for another sweet little café in the neighborhood. Here, it comes in the form of a tiny annex with six vintage indoor-sidewalk Cinzano tables and a pressed-tin ceiling. The antique glass deli case is full of nifty gourmet salads like roasted Brussels sprouts and Parmesan, faro and grilled vegetable, or eggplant caponata. Cold sandwiches feature giant muffalettas or prosciutto and fresh mozzarella. Hot pressed sandwiches are deftly crafted, melting and savory, particularly the rosemary and Fontina on thin-sliced grilled Italian bread. To-go items include fresh squid ink linguine, and pastries range from olive oil cake to amaretto panna cotta in a jar. Then, of course, there’s coffee such as rich, deep espresso and cappuccino. |
