Derek’s Restaurant Review: This wine-friendly bistro spotlights a menu of sophisticated comfort food offered via small plates and large plates. Chef-owner Derek Davis places the emphasis on sustainable and seasonal ingredients with dishes such as lobster bisque with a petite crab cake and chive, and a multitude of salads including a baked Lancaster goat cheese salad with arugula and sour cherry tapenade. Don’t miss the braised pork shoulder with sweet corn basil grits, or the bacon, lettuce, tomato and avocado wrap with hand-cut fries. There is always a three-course lunch and a three-course dinner, with the wine list half off on Sundays. Or you can BYO one bottle per two people, without a corkage fee. |
