Leave your inhibitions at Dick’s door and enjoy the food, drink and spirited service. The waitstaff’s barbs and the toque-shaped paper hats with quirky blurbs written to order for each guest to wear are all part of the entertainment, which also includes servers during the day taking their turns with a variety of skills on Dick’s stage and bands performing every night. The centerpiece of the 185-seat dining area is a lively 45-seat bar offering 16 draft beers along with a wide choice of wines and liquor; the daiquiri station features nine signature concoctions. The restaurant’s brick walls are adorned with an array of neon signs among other paraphernalia that includes a bicycle, a fire hydrant and musical instruments. TV screens abound. Dick’s specialties include salads such as roadhouse chicky with mixed greens, tomatoes, cheese and almonds; bourbon-glazed salmon grilled on a cedar plank; fried crabby cakes with chipotle dipping sauce; half-pound burgers with fries and a variety of optional toppings; and house-smoked ribs and chicken, including Bubba Dick’s barbecue pork ribs. We like the Dolly Parton---two grilled chicky breasts served with rice and a vegetable medley---and the mile-high peanut butter pie. Reservations are accepted for parties of 12 or more.
