Dick's Last Resort Restaurant Review: This rowdy joint is a favorite before and after Padre’s games. It’s filled with the younger drinking set, Navy personnel on leave, conventioneers and Gaslamp trollers. Servers are actually trained to be rude and crude, and take pride in their abilities. Ribs, wings and crab legs are served in buckets filled with french fries and slaw, while the sloppy half-pound burgers drip with cheese. The names are cheeky, as in a chicken breast dish named The Dolly and others like the Grilled Chicky Caesar Salad. Dieters beware: the menu is full of guilty pleasures, the most indulgent of which is the extreme brownie meltdown flavored with Hershey’s bars and Heath Crunch ice cream. |
