The Dish Restaurant Review

: Tucked in the back of The RumRunner, one of Tucson’s premier gourmet food and wine shops, The Dish is perhaps the city’s smallest dining venue, yet the plates that emerge from the kitchen are big on flavor and creativity. Divided into “Small Dishes,” “Green Dishes,” “Deep Dishes” and “Big Dishes,” the menu offers clever and creative options. We like the long-stemmed artichoke hearts with shiitake duxelles, creamy Parmesan polenta, truffle oil and almond-basil pesto. The “Deep Dishes” section flaunts mussels fragrant with saffron and garlic (if you sit at the bar, ask about the special deal that includes a glass of wine), while larger plates change often but usually include seafood, poultry and steaks. Reservations are accepted --- and we strongly recommend that you make them. In addition, you can purchase bottles of wine at The RumRunner if nothing on the wine list catches your fancy.
