Chef Richard Sandoval’s chic David Rockwell-designed restaurant boasts his classic fusion of Mexican and Asian cuisines. Located on the fourth floor of the futuristic Yotel hotel, the eatery is separated into an indoor space (called DohYO) and an outdoor terrace (called, creatively enough, Terrace) offering outstanding views. The menu of mostly small plates has several hits: foie gras and pork gyoza, several sushi rolls (including the eel and jalapeño version), pork belly tacos, and a curiously combined pozole miso soup that manages to work very nicely. Among several signature cocktails is a spicy margarita, and generally affordable bottles comprise a medium-size wine list.
