Dominique's on Magazine Restaurant Review

: Dominique Macquet is a familiar name and face to New Orleans foodies who have followed the island of Mauritius native's career for two decades at several different restaurants. This chic, contemporary SoHo-inspired interior occupies a renovated former firehouse, with a courtyard that features hydroponic herb gardens. And though the place may look Manhattan, Macquet's food is strictly island-meets-Deep South. Consider the local black drum spiced with Meyer lemon, or sautéed sweetbreads with chimichurri. Dessert --- try the passion fruit panna cotta --- is always accompanied by plantain cotton candy. Yes, cotton candy is a Macquet signature item, as is his welcoming omnipresence throughout the building. Wine offerings are as diverse as one would require for a modern fine dining experience. Plan to linger a while and visit the very cool bar before and after your meal.
