Dorns Original Breakers Cafe Restaurant Review: With its enviable views and casual old-San Francisco ambience, Dorn’s Original Breakers Café has enjoyed a loyal clientele of both locals and tourists since it opened in 1942. While other establishments try to chase the latest trends, this family-run eatery has always wisely chosen the “if-it-ain’t broke…” approach. Given its seaside location, you can enjoy clam chowder and all manner of fish ‘n’ chips, but you’ll also find spot-on renditions of perennial favorites such as eggs Sardou, a hangtown omelet with oysters, crab Louie, Cobb salad, sole Florentine, and even an open-face sardine sandwich on rye bread. For dessert, dig into a warm olallieberry cobbler. The full bar is complemented by a selection of local wines. |
