Dos Toros Taqueria Restaurant Review:

When the brothers Kremer, natives of San Francisco (and aficionados of the city’s many celebrated taquerias), moved to New York, they were astounded by the lack of edible Mexican fare. So they decided to do something about it. Enter Dos Toros, a San Francisco-style taqueria. The small room, bedecked with tables and chairs made from reclaimed wood, is about as basic as the menu of burritos, tacos and quesadillas made with your choice of carne asada, chicken asada and carnitas. The latter ingredient, pork, hits the spot every time, especially when paired with the ultra creamy (but still chunky) house-made guacamole. And since Dos Toros is going for authenticity, the only misstep is that there aren’t bottles of hot sauce on tables, forcing diners to buy a side of salsa. But if you’re missing a bite of San Francisco, this is the place.
