For those searching for authentic Chinese food in the New Orleans area, the Chinese-American-restaurant stereotypes at Double Dragon fortunately end with the lacquered tables and other typical dining room furnishings. In fact, the fresh Cantonese- and Mandarin-style food is in a league of its own. A single portion of the Peking duck could serve a small family, though it's too satisfying for anyone to quit eating; the chef prepares a soothing soup from the duck bones for dessert. Bok choy, green beans, broccoli raab, spinach, pea tendrils---there's enough green here to cause the Food Pyramid to implode, and all of it is wok-fried just until tender. In addition, as the excited servers will tell you, the fried tofu---crispy outside, melting inside---isn't just for vegetarians.
