THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Double Li Restaurant Review:

The setting is humble, but the black pepper tenderloin beef --- sticky, spicy, caramelized nubs of battered meat --- is so good it could bring a person to tears. The dry chili chicken, stippled with singeing red peppers, is addictive, too, but even as such it still gets relegated to second place. This is real Chinese food, courtesy of Ben Li, and it’s worlds away from what you'll find at the restaurant's cornstarch-thickened, Cantonese neighbors. The menu, devoted largely to Szechuan-style specialties, is vast, and the truth is it’s hard to go wrong, whatever you pick. And if you pick the tender dumplings swimming in pleasantly oily chile sauce, cumin lamb or the pork belly dubbed “homemade bacon,” you assuredly won’t leave disappointed.
