Doughnut Vault Restaurant Review

: Step up to the antique register --- and be prepared to pay cash --- at Brendan Sodikoff’s doughnut-driven follow-up to Gilt Bar and Maude’s Liquor Bar. Featuring a handful of gourmet sweet treats each day --- and open only until they sell out --- it’s located around the corner from Gilt Bar. The lack of set hours, routine waits, limit on purchases and hefty price tag ($3 a pop) are hardly deterrents, mind you. One bite of the classic (chocolate-glazed, gingerbread) and updated (pineapple, mocha-glazed) varietals, and you’ll join the masses in a collective, satisfied sigh --- and assuredly understand why. Be sure to get a cup of Metropolis Coffee to go with.
